A fun way to make your sandwich and a comic you definitely need to check out!
So a little plug for my boyfriend Noah: He is one of the co-creators of the comic Non-Humans which is about to set its fourth issue on stands this month, but lately he’s been working on his newest project Saint Chaos.
Saint Chaos is about a depressed guy who accidentally turns vigilante hero by the end of this story. It’s a little bit dark but keeps your attention at every second with the imaginative writing and even more intriguing art by Zsombor Huszka, the artist.
If you’re into comics or just a good read, this comic is being exclusively released by Denver’s Mile Hi comics and if you’re a local drop in TOMORROW June 26, 2013 to grab a copy, and if not order it online simply by clicking the picture below!
Also head to Noah’s website: http://www.er-studios.blogspot.com and check out the great reviews already out about the comic!
So that’s my plug. Anyway, what it has to do with making sushi sandwiches is simply that Noah LOVES sushi and has been begging me to make it for him at home, so as a treat for all the hard work he has been doing I surprised him with this silly Sushi Sammie lunch!
He definitely was amused and I have to say it was fun to make these little guys! It’s such a cute way to display sandwiches, great for adults and kids alike! They also easily make the perfect finger-sized snack fun for a party! You can really make them whatever style sandwich you like! And of course, they are delicious!
The Innards:
- 2 slices of Bread, all crusts cut off
- Spread (Peanut butter, mayo, jelly, whatever)
- Insides (banana, meat, cucumber, cheese, whatever)
How to Make the Sammies:
1. Cut the crust off all sides of 2 slices of bread and lie them on top of each other overlapping a bit.
2. Use a rolling pin and flatten the two pieces of bread, this helps them to connect together.
3. Spread whatever you like on top of the bread, here I used Peanut Butter.
4. Take you sandwich fillings, for this one the peeled Banana, and put it at one end of the bread, then roll it up firmly.
5. For the PB + Banana sandwich I drizzled it with Honey.
6. For the Cucumber sandwich, I used Cream Cheese and Dill as a spread, rolled up the whole cucumber inside and garnished with some fresh chopped Dill.
Cut the sandwich log into 4-5 bite size pieces that end up looking like sushi rolls and enjoy!
Bon Appétit!
